The Business Spotlight with Tracy Byrne, Rediscovering Strength, Building a Business, and Saying Yes
Apr 14, 2025This week on The Business Spotlight, I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Tracy Byrne, the founder of The Wellbeing Edge. And if you’re a woman running a business, thinking about starting one, or currently crawling through the middle of one—this one’s for you.
We both wore pink. We both came armed with a serious love for encouraging women to keep going. And Tracy brought her usual mix of passion, wisdom, and full-body energy.
Here are some highlights (but honestly, go watch the full thing—it’s a gem).
From studio classes to corporate wellbeing
The Wellbeing Edge started as a bricks-and-mortar business in Rathmichael, South Dublin—small group classes, one-to-ones, real in-person community. But like all smart businesses, Tracy’s evolved.
She now offers:
-
Reset Days: immersive, nature-inspired wellness days (Elaine-tested and highly approved).
-
Residential retreats: for people who need the space to really step away.
-
Corporate workshops: for companies who are ready to get serious about wellbeing.
And these aren’t your generic, tick-the-box wellbeing sessions.
She’s hosted HR directors, oncologists, and professional services teams. The focus? Movement, connection, mental clarity, and getting outside the boardroom—and into actual fresh air.
“We’ve been told for years that offsites should happen in bland boardrooms with wine at the end. It’s time to think differently.”
The invisible load, the perimenopause, and why women need to lift heavy things
Tracy’s clients these days? Largely professional women. Smart, successful, capable—and running on fumes.
They’re juggling hybrid work, ageing parents, teenagers, menopause, and laundry. Always laundry.
And yet, they struggle to prioritise their own wellbeing.
“You don’t walk in the door and say ‘Love, I’m off to work out.’ You walk in and see the washing pile.”
Her answer isn’t hustle. It’s strength training. For real.
She’s unapologetic about it: women need to lift weights. It’s a non-negotiable if you want to feel strong, maintain energy, and future-proof your body and brain.
Visibility, vulnerability, and showing up as yourself
Like many of us, Tracy struggled with visibility at the start. She was told to post videos. She cringed. She did it anyway.
Now? She’s showing up consistently—and authentically—on Instagram and LinkedIn. And that’s brought in more aligned clients than any perfectly curated grid ever could.
“Be yourself. Don’t get caught up in what everyone else is doing. You are the brand.”
Whether she’s talking to an HR director or a woman booking her first personal training session, Tracy’s message is clear: people buy from people. And trust is built when you show up as you really are.
Best advice? Say YES.
Her theme for 2025 is simple: stop second-guessing.
“When someone asks you to do something, don’t ask ‘why me?’ They’ve asked for a reason.”
Whether it’s a speaking gig, a corporate contract, or a guest appearance on a certain LinkedIn interview series... Tracy’s saying yes. And if you’ve been holding back in your own business, this is your sign to do the same.
Tracy’s goal for the year ahead is to grow the corporate arm of The Wellbeing Edge, while continuing to serve the incredible community she’s built in her studio.
If you’re an HR manager, team leader, or someone who’s serious about real wellbeing—not just ticking the box—Tracy is absolutely one to watch.

Whether you’re building a business or just trying to stay upright while running one, Tracy’s story is a powerful reminder:
Strength isn’t just physical. It’s how you show up, again and again.
